On Final Approach…

Hi everybody

Today, I continued my series of Owl paintings. The aim is to complete five different studies so I can produce a 5 card pack of greetings cards. I’ve not decided on the final subject yet. When I have painted it I’ll set up a set of cards on my LoveFromTheArtist page.

The magnificent reference photo of a Great Horned Owl was taken by Sandy Scott, who shared it on PMP.

This painting is called ‘On Final Approach’ a watercolour on Arches CP paper. Hope you like it.

As One door Closes…

Hi everybody

Well, the Gwynngala exhibition finished yesterday 14th June, but the Camel Art Society starts today (15th June) in the memorial hall, Padstow. This exhibition runs until 28th June and is open 10 till 6 every day with free entry. I have three paintings on display, so if you will be in Padstow between 15th June and 28th June then it’s well worth a visit. I will be stewarding the morning session on the 28th. Hope to see you there.

Tomorrow is the start of the Gwynngala exhibition at Padstow. As I’m now a member of that group I will have a few paintings on display. I’ll also be stewarding on Wednesday morning. If you are in Padstow next week, then the exhibition starts in the morning and is on until Friday 14th 17:00. Please pop in and say hello. Here’s the details.

Twit Twoo Little Owls…

Hi everybody

The first watercolour for June is ‘Hide and Seek’, a combination of two refernce photo’s that I thought would make an amusing study. This was painted on my favourite Arches paper.

I have a 3 day workshop with one of my favourite artists, Steve Hall, next week. I just hope that the weather is kind this year, although the forcast isn’t brilliant. I have done workshops on this particular week in June for the last two years and have not had decent weather on either one. Last year was mostly dry, but it was cold and windy and the year before is best forgotten about! I’ll be publishing my efforts here (always supposing I manage to paint anything at all). In the meantime a belated happy weekend.

Happy painting
